Drivers in Canada are facing a surge in auto insurance premiums despite a 17 per cent decrease in the national auto theft rate this year. According to a recent survey by Ratehub.ca, 48 per cent of respondents reported a significant increase in their auto insurance costs.
However, there are some steps individual drivers can take to pump the brakes on rising costs, experts say, both before and after driving off the dealership lot.
