I bought my $450,000 house using a credit card. Instead of wiring my mortgage payment each month to my lender I used a service called plastic which allows me to make my $3000 mortgage payment every single month using my Capital One venture X card which gives me two points per dollar spent. That means that each month I’m earning 6000 points which I redeem at a value of $0.05 per point using Capital Ones Transfer Partners which is worth $300.
