In this MOC showcase, I will showcase my newest steam locomotive, my Canadian Pacific T1-c Selkirk. Incase you’re wandering which member of the class I chose, I chose no. 5935 as I was supposed to see this locomotive in person last year, and it is also among 2 surviving CP Selkirks, the other being no. 5931. Both survivors are of the sub-class T-1c, the final batch of Selkirks, with that batch being produced in 1949.
Granted, locomotives with a 2-10-4 wheel arangement are generally called „Texas” types, but the Canadian Pacific Railway opted to name their 2-10-4s Selkirks after the Selkirk mountain range. These locomotives were the only 2-10-4s ever made and used in Canada, the country’s largest steam locomotives, and the largest non-articulated steam locomotives in the former British Empire.
I am probably the first person to ever physically(so not on a computer but in the real world)build one of these engines out of Lego. I finished mine on March 22, 2021. But if you have made a CP Selkirk out of Lego in the real world, and finished yours before I did, feel free to let me know. The original build date will count.
