Ramesh (Jisshu Sengupta) and his friend’s sister Hemalini (Raima Sen) are in love with each other. On the eve of Hemalini’s birthday party, Ramesh receives a letter from his father asking him to return to his village at once. Ramesh’s father then forces him to marry the daughter of a hapless widow. Despite Ramesh’s pleas, he is married off to the widow’s daughter, Susheela (Riya Sen). However, while traveling back to Kolkata, their ferry gets drowned in a whirlpool during a storm and Ramesh finds himself and a newly married woman alone on a secluded beach. Ramesh takes her to be his new wife Susheela and sets off for Kolkata. But is Susheela really Ramesh’s wife? If not, then what is Susheela’s real identity?
