Based on the true story of Narnia author C.S. Lewis, known as Jack, who meets Joy, an American fan of his, while he is a professor at Oxford University. The two fall deeply in love, only for her to be diagnosed with cancer.
Anthony Hopkins does a masterful job of portraying Lewis. Prior to production, Hopkins read many of C. S. Lewis’s books. He especially loved a Grief Observed, upon which this movie is based.
